About the event
A Circle of Youth & Elders Gathering to Share Wisdom, Adventures, & Fun
The concept for the 2023 Tara's Meadow Labor Day Retreat Weekend is simple: a meeting of generations to explore together for 4 days (3 nights) full of fun, adventures, personal connections, and wisdom exchanged. Ages attending range from 18 – 80, and our approach is co-mentoring – where there is no hierarchy of authority between us in our exchanges. Individuals of different ages and from diverse backgrounds will come together to share in fun creative ways, in the pristine beauty of Tara’s Meadow on Beaver Island. Our goals is to support one another in an environment of diversity and inclusion, as equals aimed towards each other’s personal and spiritual growth.
Programming & Facilitators
Our three lead facilitators Loren, Lori, and Seamus will craft a variety of experiences for us, ranging from partner walks & talks in forest and on beach, small group theater movement and play, to outdoor games and swims, shared live music, campfire storytelling, and powerful stone circle gatherings. Partnering up young with old, you will have the opportunity to take turns with different co-mentors of your choice. You get to serve in the role of both “mentor” & “mentee” -- all the fun is in the switch!
Facilitators include:
- Loren Stewart (Findhorn Institute, Scotland)
- Lori Lemon (retired Lt. Colonel, LPC Counselor, & professional mentor)
- Seamus Noorgard (Tara's Meadow Executive Director)
- Special guest: Bernie Ware, peace activist, Buddhist, & retired organic farmer
